Technical guide for initial assessment. Every installation needs validation of its own data.

Why feed gas matters

A corona discharge generator converts some oxygen in its feed gas into ozone. Moisture and other contaminants can affect output and contribute to internal buildup or failures. Specify gas according to the particular model data sheet rather than connecting untreated ambient air without checking preparation.

Dry air: a complete drying train

An air-fed route needs suitable filtration and drying plus compatible flow and pressure. For the air-fed VMUS-K, AZCO calls for a dryer capable of maintaining a sustained −30 °C dew point and recommends a particular dryer for that model. That figure belongs to the cited equipment; it is not a universal requirement for every ozone generator.

Oxygen: verify equipment and supply

Some generators are designed for oxygen operation. AZCO distinguishes output and configurations for dry air and oxygen across its VMUS series. The decision needs review of purity, pressure, consumption, ozone concentration, availability and total supply cost. Do not switch feed gas on an unverified generator.

What the proposal should include

Ask for a feed gas flow diagram, humidity or purity limits, operating flow and pressure, out-of-spec alarms, dryer or concentrator maintenance, and expected output under those conditions. Feed gas preparation is part of the ozone system and its long-term reliability.
