Agriculture and aquaculture

Seawater aquaculture.

Seawater ozonation needs special caution: reaction with bromide can form secondary oxidants that persist after ozone disappears.

Agriculture and aquaculture

Bromide changes treatment chemistry

Apply treatment in a separate stream with contact and residual removal before water returns to livestock. Specify species, salinity, water chemistry, monitoring and automatic response to out-of-range readings.

Application point

Control oxidants after contact

Seawater can form secondary oxidants that last longer than ozone. Measuring free ozone alone or copying freshwater limits is therefore insufficient.

Application is placed before water reaches crops or animals. Filtration, contact and residual removal are adjusted so oxidation occurs inside the treatment loop.

Species safety is the final criterion

Alongside clarity and organic load, measure relevant residual oxidants and observe animal response.

Sampling points and comparison conditions are defined before claiming a reduction or saving. This helps separate treatment effects from normal process variation.
